Scott Gerber is the Principal of Gerber Group, known as the most influential nightlife proprietor in the world.
Rande Gerber founded Gerber Group in 1991, in which his brother Scott Gerber was one of the original investors. Gerber Group first opened The Whiskey at the Paramount Hotel, which later became the company’s signature brand. Soon after, Scott took the lead in forging a partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to develop the W Hotel brand, which now features Gerber Group venues throughout the U.S. and in select properties internationally. The partnership is widely credited for changing the landscape of the nightlife industry by creating unique, innovative venues that have re-defined ‘hotel bar.’ Today, Scott manages the company and its full portfolio of properties. His primary responsibilities include new business development, negotiating strategic partnerships with property owners, general management, financial reporting and overseeing the design and construction of new projects.
Scott – who holds a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Arizona – was previously a Principal at real-estate firm Peter R. Friedman Ltd. and represented notable clients such as Giorgio Armani, Hermes, Dolce & Gabbana and KPMG.
Gerber Group now encompasses 23 iconic venues worldwide under such brands as The Whiskey, Whiskey Blue, Living Room and Stone Rose Lounge. Scott continues to oversee the company’s growth in addition to managing its strategic partnerships with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Host Hotels & Resorts, Accor, W Hotels® Worldwide, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Related Companies and Noble Investment Group.
He is widely viewed as a leading entrepreneur in the hospitality industry and has appeared on the popular Fox Business Network show “America’s Nightly Scoreboard.” Scott has also been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Market Watch, Nightclub & Bar and Crain’s New York Business, among others.
